the nature of the transaction doesn't require a writing (Statute of Frauds), e.g., Marriage, Real Property, Debts of Another (co-signing), Contracts that last longer than one year, and the price of goods exceeding $500. I see price of $1100 in this thread, which exceeds $500 and would, therefore, require a writing. This is the Common Law in a majority of States, if not all. By today's standards, the courts acknowledge email as adequate evidence of a written agmt. So, yes, your agmt formed a binding contract. I feel like I'm back in law school again, lol.
